My style

I am committed to working with clients to alleviate the symptoms that bring them into counseling.  However, I also recognize that very often the issues that bring a person into counseling are only the tip of the iceberg.  Because of this, I attempt to use the best of cognitive, psychodynamic, self-psychology, and family systems approaches to psychotherapy to bring about both immediate symptom relief and long-term change to prevent future recurrences of symptoms.  I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which the therapist and the client work as partners for healing.
